Job Description

This role is based in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia

The Senior Accountant will assist the Assistant Finance Manager in ensuring the proper accounting and financial reporting for operating expenses (OPEX), including effective operations of the general ledger, financial closing, financial and statutory reporting, internal controls, business processes and systems.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
•    Review and ensure operating expenses and leasing expenses are recognised in accordance with accounting standards
•    Ensure accurate and timely delivery of monthly, quarterly, and yearly reports including analysis and commentaries on operating expenses variances
•    Prepare accounting treatment and process papers to support leasing/opex recognition
•    Review of accruals, prepayment and leases audit schedules
•    Prepare monthly journals
•    Review offshore journals
•    Assist in internal and external audit matters
•    Other ad-hoc tasks as when required

Qualifications

Bachelor degree in Accountancy or equivalent with minimum 3 years of audit/commercial experience (candidate with audit experience will be an added advantage)
•    Experience with SAP or equivalent ERP system
•    Meticulous, self-motivated, inquisitive and resourceful
•    Able to manage multiple tasks under pressure and meet tight deadlines
•    Applicants with working knowledge of IFRS 16 accounting
