Role Overview

The Data Centre Product Manager is responsible for defining, developing, and managing data centre products and services. This role drives product development, product strategy, commercialization, and lifecycle management to support retail, enterprise, hyper-scalers, and government customers.


Key Responsibilities

1. Product Strategy & Roadmap

  • Define and own the data centre product vision, strategy, and multi-year roadmap, including colocation offerings, datacentre services, datacentre infrastructure offerings
  • Identify market opportunities (colocation, edge DC, AI-ready infrastructure, hybrid cloud)
  • Align product direction with business growth, broader company strategy, regional expansion (especially Malaysia), and sustainability goals

2. Product Development & Lifecycle Management

  • Design and launch data centre offerings (e.g., colocation tiers, high-density racks, GPU hosting)
  • Manage end-to-end lifecycle from business case development to performance management
  • Work with engineering and operations on capacity planning, design standards, and SLAs

3. Commercialization & Pricing

  • Develop pricing models (rack, power, usage-based, bundled services)
  • Build business cases, ROI models, and investment justification
  • Drive go-to-market strategies with sales specialist, account management teams and marketing teams

4. Customer & Market Engagement

  • Engage enterprise customers, government, hyper-scalers, and partners to gather requirements
  • Translate customer needs into scalable, repeatable product offerings

5. Ecosystem & Partnerships

  • Collaborate with other datacentre providers and technology vendors to expand offerings
  • Identify partnerships for value-added services (AI, security, managed services)

6. Operational & Performance Management

  • Define SLAs, KPIs (uptime, PUE, utilization, yield per MW)
  • Monitor product performance, margins, and customer satisfaction
  • Drive continuous optimization and cost efficiency
  • Familiar with AI and automation tools to support operations and planning.  

7. Regulatory & Sustainability

  • Ensure compliance with local regulations and industry certifications (e.g., IMDA, BCA, ISO, TIA, ESG requirements)
  • Drive green data centre initiatives (renewable energy, liquid cooling, carbon tracking)

Qualifications

Experience

  • At least 8 years in product management, preferably in:
    • Data centres / colocation
    • Data centres services
    • Data centre related infrastructure solutions (e.g. UPS, modular DC)

Technical Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of:
    • Data centre design (power, cooling, racks, redundancy tiers)
    • Mechanical and Electrical products and solutions
    • AI / high-performance compute infrastructure (preferred)

Business & Commercial Skills

  • Experience in pricing, P&L ownership, and business case development
  • Strong stakeholder management across technical and commercial teams
  • Ability to translate technical solutions into business value

Soft Skills

  • Strategic thinking with execution focus
  • Strong communication and storytelling (especially for exec/board level)
  • Customer-centric mindset

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with hyper-scalers or large enterprise clients
  • Knowledge of regional data centre markets (e.g., Singapore, Malaysia, ASEAN)
  • Experience in managing data centre and infrastructure portfolio (colocation, M&E infra, services)
  • Exposure to smart infrastructure, digital platforms, or edge computing
