The Lead Quality Engineer will focus on improving internal software quality processes, leadership and organisation of QE teams across Enabling Platforms and support business & technical Platforms initiatives testing in Enabling Platform (and potentially other BU’s Initiative as required) through the full Agile SDLC.

Make an Impact by: 

• Collaborate with Quality Engineering COE and other QE Leads to drive process improvements and ensure that the QE function continues to ‘shift left’.
• Overseeing QE engineers in the EP platforms organization and provide mentorship and guidance engineers where necessary, in accordance with a move toward agility and automation.
• Assess the application platforms portfolio in Enabling Platforms, identifying where best to apply your expertise to improve the level of quality in releases.
• Review and assess the skillsets of quality engineers, identifying training needs and resourcing requirements.
• Help mentor junior QE members in automating complex testing scenarios utilising your coding skills whilst also suggesting appropriate tools that would best fit the solution, identifying opportunities for change and improvement.
• Define and review quality assurance & testing strategies and work together with Solution designers for testing scenarios and test cases.
• Have worked in an agile environment, but also be pragmatic in your approach.
• Promote a Test-First mindset in the development teams for high quality software development.

Skills for Success: 

• Degree in Computer Science or any other equivalent.

• 10+ years of relevant experience in testing in an Agile environment (User Stories, why Acceptance Criteria are important)
• The key technical skills are based around business & technical platforms Quality engineering practices & automation in a cloud-based environment and CI/CD, so experience in a similar environment is essential and any experience with Performance and/or Load testing is highly desirable.
• Solid coding experience is essential.
• Exposure to Java Spring Boot development & test automation is also essential.
• Experience building automation testing frameworks for self-service, mission crtical platforms.
• Cloud, k8s experience also necessary into AWS/Azure environment
• Chaos Engineering /Litmus Chaos - as optional / nice to have skillset.
• CastleMock/other mocking frameworks and QMetry exposure also needed
