Overview

Deep Tech Central is SGInnovate’s flagship digital platform, powering the connections that drive the deep tech economy. As we expand our digital capabilities, we are establishing a dedicated internal engineering core within the Digital Strategy & Analytics team.

Role

The role of a Product Designer helps to develop key products and platforms for SGInnovate. As part of our digital transformation project, the team needs to deliver useful and effective online platforms to help the various teams scale up in terms of engagements in events, courses, jobs, and programmes. The Product Designer will need to assist in gathering and shaping requirements and create intuitive and visually appealing solutions that resonate with our users. He/she will need to manage the existing platform along the way. The role shall work closely with the Assistant Product Manager to ensure the timely delivery of quality products.

Responsibilities

1. Feature Specification: Gather requirements and shape product behaviour/functionality based on thorough understanding of business processes.

2. User research: Drive user research activities including user interviews, surveys and usability testing.

3. Design: Create wireframes, user flows, prototypes to visualise design concepts and interactions. Iteration of this process based on feedback and new requirements from the team, while maintaining design systems and pattern libraries.

4. Define Product Vision & Strategy: Collaborate with stakeholders to develop a product roadmap that aligns with business goals and customer needs.

5. Documentation: Work with internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure that all user requirements and technical designs are documented clearly and meticulously in specification documents

6. Product Delivery: Collaborate with external vendors to deliver product functionality iteratively and rapidly against pre-defined requirements

7. Product QA: Identify, prioritise, and resolve technical, functional, and business quality issues across use cases that are applicable to the product. Work closely with vendors to fix defects or enhance the platform.

8. Voice of key stakeholders: Gather feedback from users of the platforms to understand how they engage with the product, make better decisions, and drive meaningful outcomes for the business

9. Others:

• Manage product as per project timeline and prioritise tasks accordingly
• Manage process, standards, and procedures to minimise rework and system failures
• Assist the team in change management through the delivery of guides and/or communication materials
• Negotiate with vendors and across teams to ensure adequate resources are available during various phases of the project
• Build relationships with business users, vendors and management to determine and resolve issues associated with systems implementation
• Follow and adopt industry standards and agile development practices to accommodate rapid customer-driven specification changes.
• Review project documentation to ensure that it conforms to the required quality and granularity

Requirement

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Computer Science, Design or any other related fields

Tangible:

• Familiar in project management and the various methodologies (e.g. Agile, waterfall, etc)
• Passion for user-centered design and keen eye for detail
• Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, Figma, or similar.
• Understanding of user research methods and usability principles.
• A portfolio showcasing your design projects and process (please provide a link or PDF).
• Experience in driving elements of product development life cycle from vision to execution (i.e. product vision, GTM strategy, driving requirements and product launch)
• Familiar with product and project lifecycle for technology products (i.e. SDLC, CI/CD, etc)

• Able to manage and excel in ambiguity to create structure from almost nothing
• Good to have consulting experience
