Job Responsibilities :

Razer is hiring for Associate Data Scientists and this role will focus on designing and developing advanced AI-driven solutions for game developers and gamers. The ideal candidate will have exposure in Reinforcement Learning (RL), Generative AI agents, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) from prior internships to create intelligent gaming tools and experiences. This role involves working closely with AI engineers, game developers, and software engineers to build cutting-edge AI capabilities that enhance game mechanics, player engagement, and content generation.

In this role, you will contribute to Razer’s AI gaming initiatives, gaining exposure to multiple Data Science tracks as your career progresses. These may include, but are not limited to, computer vision, reinforcement learning, generative AI etc. Responsibilities will vary by specialization, as briefly outlined below. A Master’s or PhD in a relevant field is required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Research, design, and implement rewards-based agents using Reinforcement Learning (RL) for testing gaming applications.

• Optimize agent performance through hyperparameter tuning, reward shaping, and model architecture refinement. 
• Develop and implement computer vision algorithms for tasks such as object detection, recognition, tracking, segmentation, and image classification.

• Develop and optimize agents and advanced RAG-based solutions for dynamic game content creation, adaptive player interactions, and enhanced gaming experiences.
• Collaborate with game developers, designers, and software engineers to integrate AI models into game development workflows.
• Build and optimize AI-powered gaming tools, enabling developers to create more immersive and dynamic player experiences.
• Develop and fine-tune models to improve AI in gaming applications.
• Analyze and preprocess game data, training AI models to adapt and improve in-game decision-making processes.
• Stay updated on the latest advancements in AI for gaming, ensuring our solutions remain state-of-the-art.
• Evaluate model performance and drift through experimentation and benchmarking, improving efficiency and scalability.
• Assist in the deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of AI models in production environments.
• Document findings, methodologies, and research for internal knowledge sharing and external publications, where applicable.

Pre-Requisites :

Qualifications

• Knowledge in Reinforcement Learning (RL), Generative AI agents, and RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation).
• Proficiency in Python and exposure with PyTorch or TensorFlow for deep learning.
• Experience with game engines such as Unity and Unreal Engine is a plus.
• Familiarity with LLMs, transformers, diffusion models, and self-learning AI systems.
• Knowledge in training and fine-tuning large-scale AI models.
• Knowledge with cloud-based AI deployment (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to translate research into practical solutions.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with technical and non-technical teams.
• Passion for gaming and an understanding of game mechanics, AI-driven storytelling, and player engagement strategies.
   
  Education & Experience
• Master’s or PhD in a relevant field (Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, etc.).
