Job Description

Get to know the Business

GrabRentals is a core pillar of Grab's Mobility business, with the primary objective of securing vehicular and productive driver-partner supply for Grab's ride-hailing marketplace. We house three business units covering PHVs, Taxis and Autonomous Vehicles.

Get to know the Role

We are seeking a visionary and execution-oriented Head of AV Fleet Operations to architect our operational footprint from the ground up. In this high-impact leadership role, you will be the architect of our physical operations, building the organization, processes, and culture required to scale our autonomous fleet safely and efficiently.

You will recruit and lead a multi-disciplinary team across three core functions: Vehicle Maintenance, Command Center Operations, and Field Service Staff. You won't just manage existing flows; you will write the playbooks, define the decision-making frameworks, and lead the charge on new market deployments.

You will be reporting to the Head, GrabCab and Strategic Projects, in our Grab One North office.

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

  • Design the organizational structure and process architecture for SOPs and operational playbooks for every aspect of the fleet lifecycle
  • Own the P&L and resource planning for fleet operations, encompassing headcount planning, facility management, and vehicle acquisition/maintenance budgeting.
  • Oversee the lifecycle management of the AV fleet, ensuring maximum uptime and optimal vehicle health.
  • Establish preventative maintenance schedules, cleaning protocols, and charging/refueling logistics.
  • Manage a 24/7 Command Centre responsible for real-time fleet monitoring and logic-based dispatching.
  • Create a robust crisis response framework for on-road incidents, ensuring rapid coordination between field teams, legal, and PR.
  • Develop a high-volume hiring and training pipeline for Safety Operators (safety drivers) and Field Engineers.
  • Manage rostering, shift planning, and performance management for a distributed workforce.
  • Safety Culture: Instill a "Safety First" mindset across all field staff, ensuring rigorous adherence to compliance and safety regulations.
