Business Function

Corporate and Investment Banking provides corporate customers with a full range of commercial banking products and services, including cash management services, current accounts, time deposits, trade finance,working capital finance, term loans and foreign exchange. We are seeking a highly strategic, detail-oriented, and results-driven individual to lead our transformation programs such as Managing Through Journey (MtJ), Operating Model Transformation (OMT) from the perspective of the Institutional Banking Group.

This critical role will be instrumental in translating our strategic vision into tangible, measurable outcomes jointly with our performance cells across locations. The Business Transformation Lead will act as the orchestrator of our performance ecosystem, ensuring a seamless flow from strategic scorecard development to flawless execution and continuous improvement. This is not just a project management role; it’s a leadership position that will shape our operational rhythm and activate our next-level implementation across the locations.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Orchestration & Performance Leadership:

  • Elevate and Steer Performance Cells: Provide strategic guidance and direct steer to regional and functional performance cells, ensuring alignment with IBG’s overarching goals and the organization’s strategic scorecard.
  • Clockwork Operating Rhythm: Design, implement, and continuously refine a robust, clockwork operating rhythm that seamlessly integrates all aspects of the transformation lifecycle, from strategic planning and metric definition to data collection, analysis, reporting, and implementation tracking.
  • Scorecard to Implementation Mastery: Own the end-to-end process of translating strategic scorecard metrics into actionable implementation plans, ensuring clear ownership, accountability, and measurable progress at every stage.
  • Strategic Rituals & Senior Management Engagement: Develop and facilitate compelling, data-driven rituals (e.g., reviews, steering committee meetings) for senior management, distilling complex information into clear, concise insights that drive strategic decision-making and secure buy-in.

Data Synthesis, Analysis & Insight Generation:

  • Big Data Synthesis to surface Actionable Insights: Possess an exceptional ability to synthesize vast amounts of qualitative and quantitative data and information from diversesources, identifying critical trends, interdependencies, and underlying drivers of performance.
  • Analytical Acumen: Demonstrate strong analytical capabilities, confidently working with data to validate hypotheses, measure impact, and forecast outcomes.

Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement:

  • Workflow Workbench Optimization: Dive deep into the details of workflow processes and digital workbenches, identifying bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and opportunities.
  • Experimentation & Innovation: Collaborate actively with Transformation and Data teams to foster and enable a culture of continuous learning and adaptation, whenever possible, broaden the implementation across locations and performance cells.
  • Uplift Implementation Standards and Next-Level Steer: Spearhead initiatives to uplift implementation practices across all performance cells and to ensure best-in-class execution, including for next-generation methodologies and tools.

People & Collaboration:

  • Collaborative Demeanour: Cultivate strong, collaborative relationships with cross-functional teams and business unit leaders.
  • Influencing & Persuasion: Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels without direct authority, securing commitment and driving change through compelling communication and reasoned arguments.
  • Employee Pulse & Accountability: Take ownership of analysing employee pulse survey results, developing robust action plans with clear accountability, and meticulously tracking progress towards desired outcomes
  • Community Building & Strategic Alignment Events: Organize, orchestrate, and brainstorm engaging semi-annual IBG community events designed to set strategic intent, foster a sense of togetherness, and instill fun elements.

Hands-on Execution & Communication:

  • Juggling Priorities: Expertly manage and prioritize multiple, often competing, initiatives simultaneously, demonstrating exceptional organizational skills and the ability to adapt to dynamic environments.
  • Hands-on Yet Big Picture: Maintain a pragmatic, hands-on approach to problem-solving and execution, while consistently keeping the overarching strategic objectives in view.
  • Compelling Communication: Possess superior written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft clear, concise, and impactful written reports, presentations (slides), and executive summaries that resonate with diverse audiences.

Key Accountabilities

  • Overall Program Success: Accountable for the strategic design, successful implementation, and continuous optimization of the transformational program, including that for MtJ, ensuring its direct contribution to IBG's strategic objectives.
  • Data-Driven Decision-Making Enablement: Accountable for synthesizing complex data into clear, actionable insights to enable senior management to make informed strategic decisions and drive performance improvements.
  • Operational Rhythm & Efficiency: Responsible for establishing and maintaining a "clockwork operating rhythm" for the program, maximizing efficiency, transparency, and accountability across all touchpoints.
  • Implementation Standard Uplift: Accountable for elevating implementation practices across locations, ensuring consistency, quality, and continuous improvement in execution.
  • Employee Engagement Action Planning: Direct accountability for the analysis of employee pulse survey results, the development of robust action plans, and the tracking of their execution to improve employee experience within the transformation scope.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Buy-in: Responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders to push forth the transformation agenda from IBG lens.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience across Business Management and Business Transformation with hands-on experience in guiding and executing initiatives with varying degree of complexity and maturity in a financial services industry regionally.
  • Highly organized, proactive, and capable of managing multiple priorities under pressure and thrive in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment.
  • Proven track record of designing, implementing, and managing large-scale, complex programs with measurable impact.
  • Strong proficiency and skilled in preparing effective and well-structured presentations with clear narratives and data analysis to varied audience; demonstrated ability to synthesize complex information into clear, actionable insights for senior leadership.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, with a proven ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of an organization, cross functional teams, with a combination of courage, good judgement, intellectual curiosity and great business instinct.
  • A "can-do" attitude with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
