GFM Operations - GFM Ops operates as a Regional Processing Centre (Hub & Spoke) supporting GFM businesses in the region. The hub and spoke model allow GFM business to scale up while remaining agile in product and service offerings in the fast, evolving market environment. As GFM business expands product offerings in the region coupled with the dynamic regulatory environment, GFM Ops leverages on this unique advantage to continue to standardize processes to manage processing risk and to facilitate automation as well as governance of service level and quality.
Responsibilities
The role involves comprehensive risk and operational control functions within GFMO:
- Acting as a “Catch All” for exceptions involving unreconciled items such as day-end payment completeness, trade validation, outgoing swift messages, and failed trade monitoring, ensuring all items are accounted for with ownership and resolution follow-up.
- Serving as the central governing party for GFMO, coordinating and reviewing risk metrics reporting to ensure timely and accurate monthly reports, and escalating repeated Key Risk Indicator (KRI) breaches to management.
- Updating risk assessment results, KRIs, and risk incident records in the bank-wide repository to support timely risk reporting to internal and external stakeholders.
- Supporting and executing operational risk reviews across GFMO to ensure adherence to the bank’s standards.
- Monitoring traders trending behaviours for Market Operation events on trades – like cancellation and reissuance, backdated via the Dealer Metrics Workflow Tool (DMWT), ensuring reviews and approvals by Trading Desk Heads as part of trade surveillance.
- Providing location oversight to promote control and process standardization across GFMO operations.
- Proactively identifying opportunities for control and process improvements, collaborating with process owners and location operations to implement sustainable solutions.
- Partnering with diverse stakeholders including Audit, Finance, Operations COO Risk, Risk Management Group, GFM COO, and GFMO Location Operations to drive bank-wide risk management initiatives and reviews.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification with minimum of 2-3 years relevant working experience and strong proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Relevant knowledge or experience with Global Financial Markets products and end-to-end operational processes throughout a trade lifecycle.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with a good risk and control mindset to identify and challenge gaps in controls or processes and recommend effective solutions or remediation plans.
- Experience in risk management, exposure to risk and control processes, and cross-department collaboration are advantageous.
- Strong team player with effective verbal and written communication skills for collaboration with stakeholders.
- Self-starter with proactive initiative and reliability to complete tasks and achieve goals.
- Ability to multitask, work well under pressure, meet deadlines, and prioritize effectively.
- Good stakeholder management skills and a collaborative mindset.
