Job Description

 

Business Function:

The Business Lead role is a part of Global Financial Markets’s (GFM) COD office which serves as the first point of contact for change management matters for the front office and representative of the business during the project phase.

The Business Lead will work closely with traders and sales in FX, Interest Rate Swaps, Credit, Structured Products and Equity Derivatives to understand their functional requirements in order to implement the best fit technology solutions for GFM. This requires a combination of communication skills, strategic vision and understanding of technology, data flows, product knowledge, pre and post trading workflows and regulatory requirements. Projects the team covers are very broad and deep: main treasury system upgrades, GFM product pricing engine replacement, establishment of new business line (eg. Crypto), setting up new branches for DBS GFM (eg. Gift City), enhancement of risk management for trading desks, expansion price distribution capabilities, workflow / process optimization of the current operating model, and implementation of industry wide changes.

Responsibilities:

  • Understand trading and sales desk needs and develop strong business case and justification
  • Act as the intermediary between front office, technology and project management teams to lead initiatives and change programs
  • Analyse business process flows, create workflow diagrams and document business requirements
  • Develop UAT test cases, test scenarios and execute the test plan.
  • Facilitate business review of proposed solutions and obtain decisions/approvals of functional specifications.
  • Work closely with program management/project management teams to help deliver end to end solutioning

Requirements:

  • University Graduate with major in Business Management, Finance or Financial Engineering
  • Minimum 3 - 5 years experience (or 5 - 8 years for more senior position) in a similar capacity in Treasury support with exposure to treasury products, systems, business and control processes.
  • Exposure to financial markets and working knowledge of treasury products especially in derivatives will be an added advantage
  • Good control mindset and the ability to understand various risks in financial markets.
  • Proficient in understanding of technology both from an application and architectural perspective
  • Good analytical, organizational and communication skills with the ability to collect, analyze, document and present the information with attention to detail and drive for excellence.
  • Highly committed, self-motivated, and fast learner with a nimble mindset.
  • Excellent communicator with maturity and aptitude
  • Team player that enjoys collaboration across peer teams in the COD office.
