The IBG Data Chapter is seeking a highly motivated Big Data Analyst to drive data-led decision-making and support the development of dashboard and analytics solutions within IBG. This role combines analytical thinking, business understanding, and technical capability, and involves close collaboration with stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities:
- Business Requirements & Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to gather, define, and refine business requirements.
- Translate business needs into measurable objectives, performance indicators, and analytical deliverables.
- Present findings and recommendations clearly to business stakeholders, ensuring alignment in expectations and solutions.
- Data Analysis & Business Insights
- Perform deep-dive and exploratory analyses to identify trends, anomalies, and business opportunities.
- Address ad hoc data and analysis requests with speed and precision.
- Support hypothesis testing, business case evaluation, and strategic initiatives with data-driven insights.
- Visualisation Planning & Storytelling
- Define user journeys and conceptualise wireframes or prototypes based on business needs.
- Design of intuitive and user-centric dashboards that effectively convey business narratives.
- Recommend enhancements based on evolving priorities and feedback from end users.
- Data Readiness & Validation
- Partner with data platform teams to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and readiness of datasets used in business analysis.
- Validate feasibility of data requests by assessing available data sources and structures.
- Testing, Training & Enablement
- Conduct end-to-end testing of analytical outputs and reports to ensure alignment with requirements.
- Develop user guides, training materials, and run enablement sessions to empower business users in leveraging analytics tools effectively.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in data analysis, business analysis, or BI/reporting functions.
- Proficient in Qlik Sense (scripting, data modelling, visualisation).
- Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases and data extraction.
- Familiarity with other BI tools or data platforms is a plus.
- Ability to derive meaningful insights from complex datasets.
- Comfortable working with ambiguity and evolving requirements.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Skilled at presenting complex ideas in a clear and structured manner.
