About the Role :

As a CBRE Engineer, you will possess an in-depth knowledge of electrical services within the built environment and will be responsible for the optimal operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of all electrical systems across our facilities. 

This role is crucial for ensuring the reliability, safety, and energy efficiency of our electrical infrastructure.


What You'll Do : 

Electrical System Operations & Maintenance:
  • Oversee the routine operation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of all electrical systems, including power generation, transmission, and distribution (high and low voltage equipment).
  • Manage and maintain building services such as lighting (interior and exterior), power outlets, fire alarm systems, security systems, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), and backup power systems (generators).
  • Diagnose and identify faults in complex electrical engineering systems, building installations, plant, and equipment.
  • Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs for electrical assets to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
  • Review pre-handover documents and operation and maintenance manuals for electrical systems.

Troubleshooting and Problem Solving:
  • Lead the troubleshooting and resolution of electrical issues, ranging from minor faults to complex system failures.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to in-house maintenance technicians and external contractors.

Project Support:
  • Review electrical documents, specifications, and shop drawings.
  • Conduct site visits to oversee implementation and ensure compliance with designs and specifications.
  • Prepare technical reports and feasibility studies for electrical projects and improvements.

Compliance, Safety & Energy Efficiency:
  • Ensure all electrical systems and operations comply with national and local electrical codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
  • Develop and implement safety documentation and procedures, including risk assessments, for electrical work.
  • Proactively promote and implement energy management and energy reduction initiatives within electrical systems.
  • Analyze data from monitoring systems to support design efforts and improve efficiencies.

Team Leadership & Development:
  • Lead, motivate, monitor, and oversee a team of electricians or subcontractors.
  • Provide mentorship and training to junior staff, enhancing their technical capabilities.
  • Stay updated on the latest advancements in electrical engineering and facility management technologies.

What You'll Need: 
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical engineering or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of progressive experience in electrical engineering within a facility management or building services environment.
  • Licensed Electrical Worker (LEW) is highly preferred; relevant certifications in facility management (e.g., CFME) are a plus.
  • In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarms, security systems, BMS (Building Management Systems), and backup power.
  • Strong understanding of national and local electrical codes, safety regulations, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in interpreting electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, and leadership abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and work under pressure.
